To be authentic, you will want Havana Club rum which, of course, is illegal in the United States due to the Cuban embargo. If you can't get Havana Club rum, try Flor de Cana White Rum, or Ron Matusalem Platino rum. You want to add at least a lime's worth of juice to balance the sweetness of the Coke. Don't serve this with rum, Coke, and a measly lime wedge.
