- 1 oz Rye Whiskey
- 1 oz Absinthe
- 1 oz Sweet Vermouth
- 1 dash Angostura Bitters
Stir with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. No garnish.

Not the prettiest looking drink in the world, but good for packing a quick wallop. Be sure to stir a good long time to get significant dilution. This cocktail has gone by several names. It was the Waldorf or the Hearn's at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel.
