Metropolitan Cocktail
- 2 oz Dry Vermouth
- 1 oz Cognac
- 1 barspoon Rich Gum Syrup
- 4 dashes Angostura Bitters
Stir everything with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon peel.

From the Metropolitan Hotel in NYC. This is a lighter variation of the Metropole Cocktail from a neighboring hotel.
Just had one to cap the night off. What a wonderful way to show off some great dry vermouth. In this case, Routin dry vermouth from the French Alps. Another plus is this cocktail is a reverse proportion, so with the vermouth in the majority we have a lighter alcohol cocktail.
