This cocktail comes to use from Cafe Royal Cocktail Book. I find it a nice way to use some of that Dubonnet Rouge that is slowly oxidizing in the fridge.
If you want the drink that the Queen Elizabeth is reputed to have before lunch on most days, that is Gin and Dubonnet:
- 2 oz Dubonnet Rouge
- 1 oz gin
Mix on the rocks and add a slice of lemon.
