Cabrito Reposado Tequila
This Cabrito Tequila is a fine value especially if you can find it in Mexico (where I found it). You can sort of tell because the proof is below 80. A lot of Tequilas in Mexico go a few points below 80 proof, while Tequila in the United States would be 80 proof.
I found Cabrito Reposado Tequila at a Walmart in Puerto Vallarta. It does the job as a Margarita Tequila, and you can sip it or drink it on the rocks in a pinch. Cabrito is made in the town of Arandas in the Mexican state of Jalisco.
Review
Light straw color. Medium strength grassy and herbal aromas. Light on the palate with a lean frame. Mint, pine, and chamomile notes are followed by a dose of acidity. Then, a docile burn with slight medicinal notes at the very end. Short finish. Cabrito Reposado Tequila is a sturdy example of the spirit and quite a value for 100% agave. The product tasted was purchased in Mexico and is 76 proof. Tasted 12/15/2007.
